We have Leon dealers all over the world and our ‘Dealer Spotlight’ series takes a closer look at some of the companies who sell our products to give insight into the Leon products they love and why they enjoy doing business with us. This month we spoke with Chevas King, National Account Manager for one of our Commercial Dealers, Taurus Technologies, in Flower Mound, TX.

Q: Tell us a little bit about Taurus Technologies: How long have you been in business? What type of projects do you typically take on?

A: Taurus Technologies was founded in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex over 16 years ago with the goal of providing a level of service and customer focus that we felt was sorely lacking in our industry. We take pride in finding the perfect balance between technical expertise and superior service that we strive to provide every single customer with. We work almost exclusively on commercial projects and have worked with various businesses across just about every industry from museums to hospitals to universities.

Q: How long have you been a Leon dealer for?

A: We are new to working with Leon. Taurus became a dealer at the end of 2018 and we just completed our first project that included installing several of the Horizon Interactive soundbars. While we don’t have a very long history with Leon yet, we are very excited to be a new dealer!

Q: Welcome to the Leon family! What are you liking most about our products so far?

A: The customization aspect of Leon’s products is a huge appeal. Being in the Audio/Visual industry as long as we have, we’ve run into just about every kind of room layout and design you can imagine. Every project presents its own set of unique challenges and requirements so having Leon products that are custom designed to fit the space they are built for is a game changer.

With these products we can offer AV solutions that meet the high standards of performance our customers have come to expect while also blending in seamlessly with the room and creating a space that is both functional and visually appealing.

Q: Tell us about your first project with us:

A: It was for a beautiful office space in downtown Dallas. We were tasked with upgrading the video conferencing systems in several conference rooms throughout the building. The ability to customize the soundbars used in each room was vital in bringing some of these spaces together where the display and conference table were not centered to one another. Because we were able to custom place the insert for the cameras being used for video conferencing capabilities, we were able to ensure that no matter the location of the display, the camera would always be perfectly centered to the table.

Leon’s expertly designed speakers not only helped with the functionality of the room, but also provided a seamless speaker integration that kept all rooms looking sleek and professional.

Q: With so many off-the-shelf products on the market, how do you convince your clients of the value of custom audio?

A: As we touched on above, every project we work on is different with its own unique set of requirements and challenges. This is something we like to highlight anytime we meet with a client. When choosing to use off-the-shelf products, you’ll get part of the job done but rarely will you end up with what you had envisioned. This becomes a case of having to compromise certain elements due to working with cookie-cutter type products. This can take the form in both capabilities that you give up or the visual aspect of trying to work with off-the-shelf products that are not designed with your specific space in mind.

This is where the value of custom audio solutions really shines through. It’s the only way to ensure that the spaces you put so much time and effort into are fully equipped with everything you need to perform in the way your business needs it to while still keeping design top of mind.
